That's a posting by Scott Jones, he's a great gtrst AWA really accomplished drummer [plays BOTH REALLY well], he posts at Audiophile Imports Ikonboard every now & then..

I don't really think it's dis to Dave [because we ALL know the quality of his playing since the early 80's [img]wink.gif[/img] ], tho Scott is to be commended 4 keeping that in mind...

I'll have to give it a listen....

It's clear DW was solid early on. The ONE thing that show's he's still human is the left hand on the snare. It's so busy during all the solos, and that shows the "age" of the player.

What was I playing at 13?

FIRST THE GOOD:

There is an old cassette tape of me somewhere packed away where as a 14 year old freshman playing with my HS Stage Band where I play every bit as well as what Dave did - seriously.

NOW THE BAD:

There is an old cassette tape of me somewhere packed away where, as a 30 year old drummer I still played jazz the same way as I did when I was 14.
